Due to a bug in the Microsoft Graph API sending as an alias on your personal mailbox did not work anymore. Shared mailbox and their aliases were not affected. A workaround has been implemented to re-enable this feature.
Some workarounds were added to ensure mail rendering on iOS/macOS is as expected even in edge cases.
Due to increased privacy measures on some mail servers some bounce emails (Non-Delivery reports) could not be detected and processed correctly. The new improved engine should recognize bounces more reliably.
If you feel a bounce message is not being detected correctly, feel free to contact our support with the email in question and we will do our best to add detection for that particular message type.
You can now send campaigns from an email alias (if your organisation has configured it) or any mailbox with Send-As features.
Note though that unless bounce messages are sent to your own mailbox (either via the alias or if you forward them) then bounce detection will not work with this feature.
An update to our attachment engine provides a workaround for the bug in Apple iOS mail client where attachments were not displayed properly (or at all).
Added functionality for your unsubscribe page and you can now re-use the subject/body when creating a campaign (not just for follow-up campaigns).
New campaign options have been released:
You can now manually add bounced emails to your unsubscriber list or enable this behaviour for all bounced emails automatically from your account page.
You can now add multiple recipients for To and Cc to your campaign spreadsheet. Also tracking link replacements for pure links can now be disabled.
A number of the frequently requested improvements to the user interface and functionality.
More possibilites to upload campaign email recipients have been added and the placement of the email column in the spreadsheet is not restricted to the first column any more.
In addition to uploading a spreadsheet, you can now:
When using spreadsheets you don't have to have the email address in the first column any more. As long as there is a column titled 'Email' in the spreadsheet MailMerge365 will process it corretly.
Follow-up campaigns will not load images and attachments from the original campaign if any were present.
You can now add personalization tokens from your spreadsheet to both the subject and the body of your email.
While it was previously possible to add tokens to the subject line manually. The dropdown selector in the plugin will now insert a token either into the subject or the body depending on which of those you have selected.
In order to clarify the status of your campaign the metrics have been slightly adapted.
Before a campaign is sent it must be generated. Previously this step was hidden from your dashboard and performed in the background. This could result in some time delay until the 'Sent' metric started increasing. This is not an issue for small campaigns but if you were sending larger campaigns, or campaigns with attachments or just generally had a delay in this step you were stuck at 0 percent sent without any insight. The dashboard now shows you how much of your campaign has been generated before it starts sending. We also made a change to the 'Delivered' metric which now excludes bounced emails. Previously we only excluded emails we could not send due to an error, but we believe not counting the bounces is a more realistic representation of the deliverability. This might mean your deliverability rates display lower than you would expect.
Dashboard displays the number of attachments and email size and from the campaigns details you can open the original message.
On the overview and on the details page you see a little attachment icon if the campaign included attachments or images. If you hover over the text you will see how many were images and how many were attachments and the total size of both. Campaigns with large email sizes send more slowly than those without. If you open the details page of a campaign you can now also open the original email (opens in Outlook on the Web) corresponding to the campaign.
Sending Engine Improvements, Bug Fixes and Faster Support
General improvements in campaign processing, sending speed and mail handling. Various fixes for login, reporting, edge cases and technical updates. Enabled faster support with commont support cases in our admin panel.
You can set reply-to email addresses per campaign either using the plugin or using Outlook's built-in reply-to feature. Setting it directly in the campaign will override the Outlook option.
Campaigns can be cancelled even if the campaign sending has begun. This will prevent any further messages being sent.
Additionally some interface improvements and bug fixes.
New campaigns that accidentally contain old tracking links are now automatically corrected.
If you add a tracking link from a previous campaign into a new campaign that link will be changed to the original link (without the old tracking information from the previous campaign) in order to provide accurate tracking statistics. Similarly open and unsusbcribe tracking links from previous campaigns will be removed in new campaigns and replaced with the correct open and unsubscribe tracking of that campaign. Both these issues were most commonly caused by copy-pasting email contents from your Sent Items into new campaigns causing invalid links.
If you add the same recipient more than once you will receive a warning, but can continue sending the campaign.
This feature can be useful if you need to send different email contents to the same recipient.
You can now add multiple recipients to the email column.
The row will be duplicated in your campaign and sent to each individual recipient seperately. This can save time if you want to send the same email contents to different recipients. Note that each email will count towards your total number of emails for that campaign.
You can now specify a BCC email address that each email in your campaign is sent to.
This feature is useful for sending campaign emails to an external CRM (customer relationship management tool). Each email in your campaign will be sent to the recipient but also BCC'd to the email you specify. This field is optional.
You can now set a campaign name directly from the plugin when creating you campaign.
See what has changed in MailMerge365 directly from the login page.
You can now create campaigns using the results from previous campaigns or resend new campaigns.
To use this feature simply open the MailMerge365 plugin and under "Start new campaign" you will now see a new option called "Start follow-up campaign". Select a previous campaign and whether or not to send to all, opened or clicked recipients and your new campaign will be created with the selected settings. The previous emails subject and body will be added to your email.
From your campaign overview page you can now download a spreadsheet of your campaigns with their statistics.
You can now rename campaigns from your dashboard. The default campaign name is the subject of the email you sent, but you can now customize this to your needs. Simply click the edit button on the top right of the campaign details page.
